Very few live sessions found their way on to vinyl. This primarily because the market was flooding with live sessions on sound tapes - a format that had several advantages. They were cheaper to buy, easier to manufacture (hit record and when done copy the tape for friends/customers) and most important they often had more than double playing time. There are however only a few live sessions on vinyl and this one is one of the best. King Stergraph was perhaps best known as Sturgav - U-Roys legendary sound system. Here they have the A-side in a unity session with King Atauras who has their session on the B-side. Im guessing Atauras is the sound more known as Taurus. The roster of artists show a line up of some of the biggest entertainers in JA. Josey doing a dash of cowboy style, Bogga Minott bubbling as the dancehall stalwart he is, Don Carlos singing in his classic angelic vibe and my favourite Mr. Sparling just making people beat on the fence with his sound stylee! One advantage the vinyl-releases had to the tapes is obvious still. Just check the magnificent cover art! The combination of deep pink, almost purple, and black with just the lightest touch of white is incredible. Add to this some dry but highly elegant typography in a mix with some over-saturated images (almost like theyd been photocopied) and this is a stellar example of how the amateurish Jamaican reggae aesthetics epitomize the stylish an cool. The album was released on Rusty Int. in the UK.

This is the Cranberry Gold variant of my Snowflake motif. This was my first big experiment with the snowflake design, and Im pretty pleased with the results. I think the only thing I would have changed would be the finish on the beads. My original design was for the same colors, but with a matte finish... which Id still like to try at some point. This variant is created with large and small green, cranberry, and gold snowflakes. It is accented with bronze seed beads and amber Swarovski crystals. This design was made in February 2009.

Necropoli di Chella (in arabo شالة‎) o Sala Colonia è una necropoli ed un sito archeologico medioevale, situato a nord di Rabat. Il sito è la prova della più antica presenza umana nel delta del fiume Bou Regreg, lungo le cui rive Fenici e Cartaginesi stanziarono diverse basi. Occupa il sito della romana Sala, su una bassa collina coperta di vegetazione, rifugio delle cicogne nella stagione riproduttiva. Gli scavi hanno rivelato la presenza di un importante agglomerato e infatti Chella conserva le vestigia di una città romana, con i resti del Decumano Massimo, di un foro presso il quale si riconoscono le tracce della Curia, di una fontana monumentale e di un arco di trionfo. Il sito rimase poi in stato di abbandono per diversi secoli, fino a che i Merinidi lo scelsero per edificarvi la loro necropoli. Fu il sultano Abou el Hassan, il più grande della dinastia marinide, a costruire la maggior parte di ciò che rimane della necropoli Chellah. Circondata da una cinta di mura fortificate, ad essa si accede attraverso una porta monumentale, riccamente decorata e aperta ad arco acuto, ai cui lati sono poste due massicce torri merlate semi-ottogonali. Nella parte superiore del portale è presente un’iscrizione in caratteri cufici, dalla quale si apprende che la costruzione dello stesso fu intrapresa dal sultano Abu Said (1310-31) e terminata nel 1339 sotto il regno di Abu el-Hassan, il più grande sultano della sua dinastia. All’interno della necropoli si trovano alcune tombe di marabout e, presso una sorgente trasformata in fontana per abluzioni, la necropoli reale con la tomba di Abu el-Hassan , la cui stele, finemente decorata, è sovrastata da una tettoia a muqarnas. Nelle vicinanze sono presenti la moschea di Abu Yussef Yacub con un minareto decorato con maioliche policrome ora in rovina e una zaouia con un oratorio. Nella terrazza ai piedi del complesso si estende un incantevole giardino alimentato dalle acque della vicina sorgente Ayn Mdafa, che serpeggia nell’incavo della valletta. En la parte superior del portal está presente una inscripción en carácteres cufici, del que se aprende que la construcción del mismo fue emprendida por el sultán Abu Said, (1310 -31), y acabada en el 1339 fondo el reino de Abu el-Hassan, el más gran sultán de su dinastía. Al interior de la necrópolis se encuentran algunas tumbas de marabout y, cerca de un manantial transformado en fuente por abluciones, la necrópolis real con la tumba de Abu el-Hassan, cuya estela, elegantemente decorado, es dominada por una marquesina a muqarnas. En las vecindades ahora están presentes la mezquita de Abu Yussef Yacub con un alminar decorado con mayólicas polícromas en ruina y un zaouia con un oratorio. En la terraza a los pies del complejo se extiende un encantador jardín alimentado por las aguas del cercano manantial Ayn Mdafa, que serpea en el hueco de la ayudanta.
